The Oceans Protection Plan is the Government of Canada’s largest investment ever made to protect Canada's coasts and waterways while growing our economy.

As part of the Oceans Protection Plan, the Government of Canada will deliver more than 50 initiatives to protect our coasts. These initiatives are organized under the following Oceans Protection Plan priorities:

• Creating a world-leading marine safety system
• Protecting and restoring marine ecosystems
• Creating stronger Indigenous partnerships and engaging coastal communities
• Making decisions based on scientific evidence
